Jones Hall is located at 6801 Freret Street, across Newcomb Place from the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. It is the location for Tulane University Special Collections (TUSC), and its reading room services the following TUSC units:

  • Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz,
  • Louisiana Research Collection (LaRC)
  • Southeastern Architectural Archive (SEAA)
  • University Archives
  • Rare Books

The TUSC reading room can be used by appointment only, Monday - Friday, 10:00AM - 4:00 PM. Email specialcollections@tulane.edu for more information, or make an appointment via the Tulane University Special Collections website.

The TUSC reading room has a self-service overhead digital scanner with the option of a cradle (for books) or flat surface (for documents). Scans may either be saved to a USB drive or e-mailed directly from the scanner. Emailing works only with a limited number of small files, so researchers should bring their own USB drive.

The Latin American Library (LAL) also holds its own special collections, which are located in the LAL on the 4th floor of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.

Access to special collections is open to the general public.
